How to bet?

Chip values in Blackjack Surrender include 0.10, 0.50, 1.00, 5.00, 10.00, 25.00 and 100.00 in total. To play, you need to place your chips in one or more of the betting circles, located towards the edges of the table. With your bet (or bets) placed, simply click on deal to begin playing. Minimum and maximum table limits are fixed at 1.00 and 300.00 per hand, respectively.

How to play?

Two cards will be dealt to the player’s hand. Both of these are face up. The dealer’s hand will consist of one face-up card, and one face-down card. Looking at your cards is the next step of course, then having a peek at what the dealer has in their hand. Now, it is decision time.

Players do have the option of taking an insurance bet if the dealer looks as though they are going to have blackjack. You can also double-down on any first hand that you are dealt, and you can split cards of the same denomination. You can also double after a split. The surrender is of course prevalent in this blackjack game, and it will allow for a late surrender, whereby the player can get back half of their original wager – hence the really small chips.

With the decisions made, the player’s and dealer’s hands are matched up. The player with the highest hand (closest to 21) will win. If either the dealer or players goes over 21, they are said to be bust and will instantly lose the game.

Players can expect to pick up a 3:2 return for blackjack, whilst insurance will pay out at 2:1. The dealer must stand on all 17s. Normal non-blackjack wins pay-out at an even money rate of 1:1 in this blackjack game.

Tips and Tricks

Although the house edge is only 0.39% in Blackjack Surrender, it is possible to lower it. By using Basic Law Strategy, it can be possible to lower the house edge to just 0.32%, which is one of the lowest house edges for any blackjack game.

Overall Experience & Final Thoughts

Blackjack Surrender is advantageous for all players who may wish to pull out of bad hands. And yet, the actual game isn’t really any different from other blackjack variants which also offer the late surrender rule – and there are quite a few of them. Of course, you are always going to feel more comfortable playing a blackjack variant which advertises the fact that it offers surrender in its title, and perhaps at the end of the day, that is the point with Blackjack Surrender?
