Check Out Yggdrasil’s Newest Creation Double Dragons Slot
September is set to see the launch of the latest Yggdrasil developed slot, in the fantasy themed Double Dragons slot. Whether it is due to the recent Hobbit movies, or the current Game of Thrones series, dragons seem to be in at the moment.
Underneath it all, though, isn’t Yggdrasil’s latest fantasy themed slot just another run-of-the-mill slot with dragons as its primary imagery? Well, not exactly.
Yggdrasil have previously been rather shy when it comes to special features, but there are none of that in Double Dragon, which is absolutely crammed with goodies and bonuses for you.
Playable for just 20p per spin, and costing no more than £100 a go, this 5-reel, 20-line slot is going to be easily affordable for all.
Then there are those special features, which should prove once and for all that Yggdrasil is capable of delivering and competing with the big boys in the industry when it comes to bonuses.
What we love
We have to admit, that we are really impressed with the array of special features in Double Dragons, even if we don’t really like how difficult they are to trigger. Double Dragons features include double wilds, a re-spin feature, and an avalanche/cascading reel bonus. This should certainly enable you to boost your wins, if you can trigger it.
We should also point out once more than wagers are cheap in this game. This is kind of Yggdrasil’s thing, so it is really important to see that even though they have created a slot with more features than normal for them, they aren’t making it exclusive to players with a big stack. Even penny pinchers can try their hand at this game.
What we do not like
The special features. While we do love the style of the special features, and what they offer; what we don’t like is how they are triggered. Landing a symbol in a specific spot on the reels is a really bad idea. Having to land stacked symbols on three reels isn’t easy, either. It’s all very well having plenty of special features, but if you can’t trigger them, they might as well not be there at all.
The Double Dragons slot also contains a rather small non-progressive prize. Yes, the slot is cheap to play so that is to be expected. However, we think Yggdrasil could have pushed the boundaries a bit more when it comes to the top prize. A maximum line win of 125 coins is almost laughable.
Double Dragons is not a bad slot at all. It has its moments. In fact, if you are able to wager cheaply, and are fortunate enough to trigger the bonus rounds even a handful of times, you will find it one of the best Yggdrasil slots ever released. If you can’t trigger the bonuses, though, you won’t be impressed.
It is difficult to say which way this slot will go when it is launched by Yggdrasil in September. Even if it isn’t a hit, it certainly showcases what Yggdrasil can do if they put their mind to it.
