Check Out Euro Golden Cup Slot From Genesis Gaming
With just a few days left before the start of the Euro Cup 2016, we were eager to try out the new football theme video slot game, Euro Golden Cup, coming from Genesis Gaming. We have played almost all football theme game there is in the industry and weren’t happy with the results, so we were hoping Euro Golden Cup would change that. Still as we took a look at the game rules and pay table we felt disappointment.
Spinning the reels didn’t make any changes in our opinion and for us Euro Golden Cup is another failed football theme game project. The visual details are on a very low level and there is nothing attractive to see as you spin the reels.
The game looks vintage and boring, with small payouts during base play and almost no excitement. We expected much more in the bonus features which seem very hard to trigger. The trophies you collect during base play, as a flag symbol lands on reels 1 and 5, determine the level of the features in the game.
You need at least 15 to unlock the second level and a full 30 to unlock all levels and features in the game. The bonus features are divided between the Play Maker and Striker Free spins and the Penalty Shootout Game.
The Playmaker bonus awards 10-15 free spins with expanded sliding wilds, depending on which level you are on, while the Striker feature awards 10 free spins and random Striker Targets on the reels which can reveal game symbols or wilds on the last level.
The Penalty shootout feature should be the best bonus feature in the game as it is unlocked last, but it also turned out to be a disappointment. You get 5 shots at a goal, with each shot awarding credits and each goal a total bet multiplier of 2, 3, 4 or 5.
If you win the game, the total wins are multiplied x 5, if it’s a tie x 2 and if you lose no multiplier is added. All Free spins features can be retriggered with the corresponding number of spins, if 3 or more scatters land again on the reels.

What We love
As loyal fans of a certain football club, the only detail we love about this game is the football theme. It would be great to see a video slot game with this theme in the future, but on a much higher level than Euro Golden Cup.
What we Do not Like
Like we said, except for the football theme, there is nothing much to like about the game. It’s visually unattractive, with a weak pay table resulting in small wins and hard to trigger bonus features.
Worth Playing?
Not if you are trying to make some decent profit. The pay table is just too weak to produce any big wins. The highest paying symbol is the scatter with a 50 x total bet win for 5 of them on the reels. The following highest paying symbol awards a 40 x total bet win for 5 of them on a pay line.
If the symbols can come stacked on all reels then yes, maybe some decent wins would be possible. This way you will need a few wild reels or a lot of wilds on a few pay lines to end up in a plus. Not worth the risk and most of the time your balance will only shrink.
