Special Features
This slot is designed as a progressive bonus game. Once a flag appears on reels 1 and 5 a trophy is added above the reels. The number of trophies collected can go up to 30 and they determine the level of the bonus features in the game. A trophy is also awarded when 3 or more scatters land on the reels and the Bonus feature is triggered. Until you collect 15 trophies in total, the only feature available is the Play Maker Free Spins.
Here on the first level, the player is awarded with 10 free spins and the wild has an expanded and sliding function. Each time he lands partly on a reel he will slide to cover the entire reel. The wild symbol can land only on reels 2-5, in base play and in the bonus feature.
With 15 trophies collected the features level is increased to Level 2 and the Play Maker Feature now awards 12 free spins with the same wild functions. This also unlocks the Striker Feature, which awards 10 free spins with Striker Target symbols in each spin. On this level the Striker Target symbol can reveal any symbol from the pay table including the wild.
As you continue to play and collect the full number of 30 trophies, you unlock the last third level and the Penalty Shootout feature. The Penalty Shootout feature awards the player with 5 penalty shots, just like in a real penalty shootout game. The player chooses a position on the goal and each shot awards credit prizes. If a goal is won a prize from 2-5 x total bet is awarded.
You are competing with an opposing player in this feature and if you win, all winnings in the feature are multiplied by 5. If you lose there will be no multiplier added to your winnings and if it’s a tie, a x 2 multiplier will be added.
Maximums Payout
We don’t know the maximum promoted payout in this game but the pay table is pretty weak. The highest paying symbol awards a 40 x total bet win, while the scatters only a 50 x total bet win for 5 of a kind combinations. The bonus rounds can payout decently, but we wouldn’t expect any mega big wins on the reels.
Summary
Euro Golden Cup seems like an interesting game to play, but the weak pay table takes away much of the fun. The slot is designed as a low to mid variance game, so even big wins rarely go over 60-70 x total bet. The bonus features are interesting, but collecting 30 trophies can take away a lot of balance.
If you are unlucky to get only small paying bonus rounds after that, the money you invested so far will be impossible to retrieve. A good design and concept, but mediocre payouts in general. Not a game we would recommend to win big.
