Starquest aims to explore new territories in the slot world
If ever there was to be a major experimental slot released, BTG might just be behind it. Their upcoming Starquest slot certainly fits the bill. The new Big Time Gaming slot contains some features which may just become revolutionary.
Then again, there is also an undetermined aspect to the game, since BTG is being all cloak-and-dagger about some of the slots other features. This makes it very hard to determine just how well the slot will fare when it is launched on October 5.
What we can tell you is that this slot features thousands of paylines – tens of thousands, even. It also has a space exploration theme, contains scatter icons, and big paying wilds which are right at the heart of its gameplay. For that reason alone, there is a lot to love about this new slot machine game.
What we love
When we said tens of thousands of paylines, we weren’t joking. Starquest is set to feature up to 117,649 paylines. Naturally, you won’t get all of those paylines in one go.
In fact, from what we’ve seen it seems to be that the number of paylines you get to play which alters on every spin, and that it is determined by the size of the symbols which appear on the reels. You could end up playing with a few hundred, it could be the full monty. That element of surprise is certainly exciting.
Players will also be more than overjoyed to learn that wilds play a big part in this slot, and we mean big. They cover entire reels and when they appear, they will retrigger a spin with the wilds remaining in place, and multipliers being added.
The more wilds you land, the more consecutive re-spins you will get. In total, you could cover the reels with wilds, and bag massive multipliers along the way. Big wins it seems, are a dead cert in this slot.
What we do not like
We’re not big fans of the whole cloak-and-dagger approach. BTG has shown us that there are scatters in this slot, and whilst it is a safe bet that they will enable you to pocket scattered wins, we don’t know much else about them. Could there be a bonus round in this slot, and one triggered by the aforementioned scatters?
If so, that will be superb. If not, there are certainly going to be players who are less than impressed with that. We will have to wait a week before we know for sure, and that is a little bit frustrating.
At this moment in time it certainly looks as though Starquest is going to have the kinds of features that every player is going to want to play.
Big wins are guaranteed as we’ve said, and most players will be intrigued to try out its payline structure alone. So, the real question is, who doesn’t want a slice of that action?
