NetEnt takes on the epic/fantasy genre, but they won’t win the war
Warlords: Crystals of Power is the latest slot to roll off Net Entertainment’s very busy conveyor belt of games. Truth be told, there isn’t too much that NetEnt doesn’t develop of late, but will Warlords: Crystals of Power be able to mix it with the best of the other epic/fantasy themed slot genres out there?
That is a big question. The answer to it really depends on what you are after. Are you a graphics fan, or more interested in features?
This is a slot which revolves around three tribal leaders, namely the Barbarian, the Priestess, and the Samurai. Once again, NetEnt seems to have all bases covered. Warlords: Crystals of Power comes with a wealth of solid features, but it is a bit of a let-down in the graphical department. We’ll ask you again – which type of casino slot player are you?
What we love
Everybody loves a bargain, and NetEnt is set to deliver you one when it comes to paylines in this game.
There are 30 of those spread over the five reels. Whilst you might find the fact that you can’t adjust them rather harsh, you should note that you do actually get them at half-price. That’s right, for 30 lines on the reels, you will only end up wagering $0.15 per spin at the least, or $150 per spin on a maximum wager.
Features are this slot’s strong point. It can offer players the chance to bag three separate randomly triggered features, as well as three bonus rounds. Just which bonus round you get depends on a battle between all three tribal leaders.
Its pretty spiffy stuff. Free spin perks include sticky wilds, scatters, multipliers, and more. As we’ve said, from a features perspective there’s nothing wrong with this title.
What we do not like
The graphics in this slot are a bit deflating. Okay, truth be told, they aren’t bad, certainly not when compared to the graphics in many other developers’ titles.
However, with a grand and epic fantasy themed quite like this one, one would have imagined that Net Entertainment would have gone all out to impress with the graphics in their Warlords: Crystals of Power slot. They haven’t.
Whilst we do like a good epic/fantasy themed slot, one cannot help but feel as though NetEnt have been too traditional with this title. Crystals of Power? Really? We fear for the success of this game. It is a very realistic possibility that Warlords: Crystals of Power will have a very niche audience.
Yes and no. If you love features, and aren’t put off by the very unoriginal and cheesy theme, then Warlords: Crystals of Power might be your cup of tea. If you want top notch graphics, originality, and something quirkier, well, then Warlords: Crystals of Power may be set to disappoint you. The only way you’ll know for sure, though, is to have a few spins on its reels.
