Halloween Fortune II will rule this October
Let’s start off by stating the obvious – Playtech’s Halloween Fortune was and still is the benchmark for Halloween themed slots. Their game is simply nothing short of phenomenal.
So, what do you do when Playtech release a sequel? Naturally you hope it will trump even the original game, but that is no small feat.
The soon to be released Halloween Fortune II doesn’t quite hit those high notes, but it certainly leaves you feeling that no other Halloween and spook themed slots are going to triumph over it this October.
Halloween Fortune II is for the most part – a case of more of the same – but there are a few bits and pieces which don’t quite trump its predecessor. That’s not without trying, though. Halloween Fortune II sees the return of the same graphics for the most part, although far more modern so that they catch the eye.
They have the original pegged at that, but how do the other features fare? Here’s what we love and what we don’t like with the new Halloween Fortune II slot.
What we love
Halloween Fortune rules the roost when it comes to Halloween themed slots. If there was ever a way it could be improved, it would be by adding more paylines, and extending the wagering range. Playtech said, consider it done. That is exactly what you get with the new Halloween Fortune II slot.
There are 25 paylines as opposed to the original 20, and the wagering range stems from 25p up to £250 a pop. That’s much more like it.
The free spins bonus in this slot is also considerably better than in its predecessor. Halloween Fortune II contains an increasing multiplier, which will see your winnings rise from 2x up to 6x over the course of ten free spins.
You are even more likely to win thanks to the inclusion of a frozen wild in the middle of the third reel throughout the bonus.
What we do not like
There are a few things we’re not so keen on. For starters, Playtech has dropped the amount you can win – from 10,000 coins in the first game, to just 3,000 coins in Halloween Fortune II.
The spooky sequel also misses out on the Witches’ Brew slot. We loved that feature from the first slot, but it is quite noticeably gone from the sequel. That is a pity.
The witches themselves don’t seem to play such a big part in this slot, and for those hugely familiar with the original that’s a bit of a bummer. It’s hardly terrible news, though.
Halloween Fortune II is well worth a look. At the very least, this is going to be best new Halloween themed slot you are going to come across this October.
It still doesn’t have enough juice to take on its predecessor, which reigns supreme (largely because of that Witches’ Brew bonus, and the larger jackpot), but this sequel to certainly worth the trouble.
