Blueprint rely on Kong-sized features to lure you in
King Kong is coming to our film screens once more next year, with the launch of Kong: Skull Island. Whilst another Kong reboot might not fill us with too much enthusiasm; it hasn’t stopped Blueprint Gaming jumping on the bandwagon and exploited the character.
This is certainly not related to the upcoming film, but you have to see the similarities between their Kong character, the one in the film (especially the name).
King Kong Cash sees the giant ape sleep through most of the proceedings, although when he does wake from his dozing, he can reward you with numerous randomly triggered bonuses.
The slot itself also centres on some other friendly, and loveable animals, but the highlight of the game is certainly the inclusion of 10 bonus features. Nobody is going to grumble at that.
What we love
Blueprint Gaming have included some really nifty graphics in this game. In fact, the graphics in this game are about as good as we’ve seen from the developer. There is even a spot of animation, which is also rare for this small-scale casino software provider.
Now, back to the cherry on top – the bonus features. As we’ve said, there are ten of these in total, consisting of 5 bonus rounds, and 5 randomly triggered features – what are known as Monkey Modifiers. The latter include extra wilds, re-spins, multipliers and other ways to enhance your in-play, base game spins.
The former offers up no less than 3 instant win bonus rounds, and 2 free spin features. No matter what you may think of the theme or the graphics, the features is what is going to win over players’ hearts in the King Kong Cash Slot.
What we do not like
To say that this slot is supposed to be themed on King Kong, he doesn’t really do much. Sure, he wakes up every once in awhile and dishes out decent bonus features. Aside from that, though, the king of the apes seems to be more than happy to just sit and snooze.
It is almost as though Blueprint Gaming couldn’t find a way to animate him properly, so they just plonked him down at the side of the reels.
The slot carries a non-progressive jackpot worth 1,000 coins and is played over 5 reels and 20 lines. Despite this, there isn’t too much flexibility in the betting range. That isn’t totally surprising, though, since players are going to be able to bag feature after feature.
There is more than enough excitement in this game to last a very long time. With so many bonus features and a host of decent ways to bag cash prizes, you’ll never be bored.
We’re a bit disappointed that Blueprint Gaming didn’t decide to take this slot further, and show us more of Kong. Even so, this is a welcome release from them, and one which we had a good time playing. We’d imagine that you will, too.
