Big Time Gaming Just Launched Dragon Born Slot Machine
Big Time Gaming’s newest release, Dragon Born, puts you in the armor-clad shoes of a brave knight tasked by the royal with the great responsibility of defeating a ferocious dragon that has been spotted flying around the royal castle, and the evil sorceress that is his companion.
What sets out Dragon Born from other games is Big Time Gaming’s new system: Megaways. Instead of the usual 5×3 reels, this game features an expanded grid of 6×7 windows, which can be filled with both single and multiple symbols, giving players the mind-boggling amount of 117,648 ways to win.
What We Love
Dragon Born has a very solid design. It has a series of beautiful unique symbols, like the King, Queen and Prince for the Royal Family, royal banner and shield, the crown jewels (which have to be recovered by the player), and the Dragon and Sorceress themselves. The layout of the game consists of gorgeous landscapes, both snowy mountains and peaceful meadows.
The game’s special features aren’t too outlandish, but they do provide a better experience with increased winning opportunities. The REEL wild symbol works mostly like a regular wild; it can serve as any symbol which the player needs it to be.
This allows you to improve on your combinations and reap greater rewards. What makes Dragon Born’s wild symbol different is that it occupies all of the windows of a reel, and can act as a multiplier in certain occasions.
The second special symbol is the diamond scatter; if you get three or more at the same time on the reels, it gives you a number of free spins, and in free spin mode, you get one free spin every time one them of shows up.
What We Do Not Like
Although the game is very good, some minor improvements could make it a much better experience. The Megaways system is fairly interesting and innovative, but more special features to complement it are needed in Dragon Born.
The existing ones aren’t all that impressive, despite being quite good. Another aspect of wasted potential is in some of the reel symbols. Relying on traditional 9, 10, J, Q and K symbols seems almost lazy compared to the unique designs that Big Time Gaming did incorporate to the game.
Dragon Born is a very innovative video slot game, which shows a definitive improvement on Big Time Gaming’s part. They’re definitely learning from their mistakes, considering a previous release of theirs called Gold; a fairly conventional 5×3 game with uninnovative special features and quite frankly, a substandard overall quality. Seeing this refreshing new game from the developers gives me a lot of hope that their future titles will be mind-blowing, providing they build up on their experience with Dragon Born.
The bottom line is, Dragon Born is very unique game in a world that leaves relatively little room for innovations such as the video slots world. The Megaways system and the fantasy theme of this game make it a must-play for players tired of the same breed of slot games, not to mention its juicy jackpot of 100,000 coins.
