What we love

It doesn’t just look good. Frog Grog contains a cascading reels feature (or avalanche reels, if you prefer), which can see players pocket multipliers and additional winnings for single spins. All you have to do is bag consecutive wins and you will get to keep on bagging new symbols for those which appeared in winning combinations.

We’ve seen this structure time and time again in some of the more popular slots on the net, but scarcely ever in Thunderkick games. In total, these multipliers can rise as high as 7x the normal rate of pay.

What we do not like

The jackpot is this slot is a bit of a flop, too. Players can only hope to win 10x their total bet with the jackpot paying icons. This means that on a minimum bet, you’re looking at a top win of $1. On a maximum wager bet, the top prize is $1,000. It is hardly thrilling stuff is it?

Of course, if you were able to pocket multiple jackpot wins using the cascading reels feature in this game, you could potentially win 7x multipliers on those winnings – so 70x your total bet.

Total winnings of $7 up to $7,000; that is far more like it. The chance of doing this, as well as the odds of landing the jackpot as it is, is increasingly remote, though.

Worth playing?

Elements of it are, yes. Frog Grog has a cracking theme, nice features, and a cheap wagering range. The jackpot is a bit of a downer, but you can’t have everything. There does seem to be more reason to praise this slot than criticise it, though, and we for one would be willing to give it another go.
