The third installment in Yggdrasil Gaming’s Jokerizer series brings us back to the circus, but this time it’s a more mysterious and shady place. The second game in the series, The Dark Joker Rizes, showed us a darker, more evil version of the Jokerizer and his circus. Wicked Circus is still and dark reinterpretation, but this is more the dark and gritty reboot.
If the Jokerizer series were Batman movies, The Dark Joker Rizes would be Tim Burton’s Batman movies, and Wicked Circus would be Christopher Nolan’s ones. Wicked Circus does away to its predecessor’s flaming skulls and children’s Halloween decorations look, going instead for a more serious look that is just dark, not cacklingly evil dark.
Yggdrasil Gaming may not be one of the giants of the industry, but it is not, by all means, a small developer. Their product offerings aren’t just video slots and other online casino games, but they also offer live studio lotto draws, traditional and video scratch raffles, among other things.
Yggdrasil isn’t just a casino supplier, but a real gambling provider that all sorts of operators can turn to set up their business. One of Yggdrasil’s most successful game series is the Jokerizer series, which includes Jokerizer, The Dark Joker Rizes, and Wicked Circus. This series, with its signature Jokerizer mode, have provided a very innovative spin of the traditional slot gameplay.
How to Play it
Wicked Circus has a 5×3 set of reels, with 10 pay lines. 5 of its pay lines pay from left to right, and the other five pay from right to left. In practice, this means that the game has five pay lines that pay both ways. This may seem like a small amount, but it definitely improves your chances of landing winning combinations.
Actually playing the game is pretty simple. The bottom center of the screen holds the three most important buttons: Max Bet, Spin, and Auto Spin. Auto Spin lets you set the number of spins between ten up to infinite. Well, “infinite” means as long as your balance can take it, of course.

This game’s most important special feature is its central feature, the Jokerizer mode. This is a bonus mode triggered by landing a win on any pay line. Your win then becomes the Jokerizer balance, from which you’ll play the bonus mode. Every spin in Jokerizer mode is worth 20 coins, a kinda steep price, but offset by the fact that you’re more likely to land combinations in this mode.
This bonus mode can continue up until you decide to hit “collect” and add the separate balance to your real balance, or until you get a mystery win of 600 coins or more. Mystery wins are won by landing joker scatter symbols; 3 or more in regular play, or two or more during Jokerizer mode. The more joker symbols you get, the bigger the mystery win can get.
Wicked Circus does add its own special feature to the Jokerizer mode, one not present in the other games of the series. This feature is the hold feature. In Jokerizer mode, you can hold your jokers until the next spin, in the hopes of getting a bigger payout by landing more jokers.
Landing 5 joker symbols gets you a mystery win that ranges between 4000 and 6000 coins. RTP value is 96.3%.
Wicked Circus is a great sequel to the Jokerizer series, greatly improving on the series’ signature gameplay and giving us a more mature reinterpretation of the “dark clown” idea started in The Dark Joker Rizes. A must try, definitely.
