Cleopatra Plus is the latest in a long line of slot machines to be released by IGT in this series. After the success of the original Cleopatra and Mega Jackpots: Cleopatra, the bar has been set pretty high.
Admittedly, Cleopatra II was a bit of bust, but we’re going to have to pretend that the slot was ever made. So, the big question is, what can Cleopatra Plus contribute to the franchise? In this review, we’ll be taking a look and seeing if we can find out.
Just like the other games in the series, Cleopatra Plus utilizes pretty elementary Ancient Egyptian symbols as its standard paying icons, and the high playing card icons are worth the least in terms of cash prizes.
Cleopatra and the pharaoh icons act as decent paying symbols in this slot, and actually has imagery which has very little to do with the last pharaoh of Egypt than its predecessors did. In many ways, Cleopatra is a visually more generic Ancient Egyptian slot than the last three.
How to play it
One thing that hasn’t changed is the wagering menu bar. It blends into the background just nicely, as it has in the other games. As is the case with most IGT developed slots, you’ve got no chance of adjusting any of this slots 40 paylines, but you can select how much you want your coins to be worth.
Even at its cheapest, you are looking at a floor bet of 40p per spin on this game, whilst ceiling bets tend to cost upwards of £400 per spin or more.
Play For Real Money Cleopatra Plus Slot With These Bonuses:
This is not a Mega Jackpots slot, so it carries a non-progressive jackpot. If players are able to line up 5 wilds on any payline in the game, they will pocket wins which could be worth as much 1,500 coins per payline.
There are forty paylines, and wilds can appear stacked, so you can win more if you are fortunate enough.
Wild symbols: Like in all Cleopatra slots in this series, Cleo herself acts as a wild icon. She can replace all other symbols in the game, excluding scatter icons, and as we’ve mentioned, wilds are stacked in the slot. They can also double the value any winning combination in which they play a part, which is nifty.
Scatter symbols: Players are going to want to land 3 or more of the Cleopatra Plus scatters, since they open the door to the bonus rounds. They take on the shape of a golden pharaoh, and count no matter where they land on the screen.
Free spins / Bonus features
Level Up Plus: Cleopatra Plus gets its name from a Level Up feature. This feature can see you level up and climb as you play, which brings new rewards and better bonuses as it goes.
Map bonuses: Every time a player lands a golden pharaoh, the symbol will be added to the Heart of Aset counter. Once the counter is full, a new map will be available. This map can be used in the bonus round to land additional goodies.
Cleopatra bonus: The main bonus round in the slot; the Cleopatra bonus is activated by those aforementioned scatters. Once it is, players must choose which temple they will enter. The higher your player level (by levelling up) the better your options will be. The choice you make offers you a number of free spins, as well as a number of followers.
Followers can be placed on maps unlocked via the Heart of Aset counter. You will bag extra free spins, instant cash prizes, and multiplier via those maps, so the more maps you unlock, the better the bonuses will be. Following this, a free spins bonus round begins.
In terms of special features, Cleopatra Plus outweighs its predecessors. It may not be able to compete with the Mega Jackpot version of the original game in terms of progressive prizes, but it is right up there in terms of non-progressive ones.
Everything about Cleopatra Plus is better than its predecessor – if only its graphics were a little less stereotypical. Still, a little thing like graphics is not going to ruin a slot as good as this.
